Self Help Group- Mullai Vatara Kalanjiam, Salem, Tamil Nadu

Mullai Vatara Kalanjiam (MVK), a federation of 503 Self Help Groups for women started in 2001 in Salem district of Tamil Nadu.
MVK has of empowered women of these groups. The groups have provided access to credit to women, which is easier to repay as compared to high interests charged by banks. The women have come out of poverty by strengthening their means of livelihoods.
RGF is supporting MVK to carry out its various social activities. It works with around 6000 children, conduct awareness initiatives, track their health issues, run a hospital, work for harmony in society and spreading Sadbhavana.
