Dr. Jeet SinghDr. Jeet Singh brings a distinctive blend of policy research and program management expertise in the fields of environment, natural resources, and sustainability. He leads the research initiatives at the Rajiv Gandhi Institute for Contemporary Studies (RGICS) and coordinates environmental programs at the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation. With over two decades of experience in the development sector, he has worked across various thematic and organizational levels.
Jeet holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Governance from UPES, Dehradun, PG in Environmental Law and Policy from the National Law University, Delhi, and a Master’s in Sociology from HNBG University.
His research and action interests span the Himalaya, community forest management, natural resource governance, environmental stewardship, common property resources, climate change adaptation, carbon financing, and social-ecological systems.
Before joining RGICS in 2013, Jeet worked with several NGOs and research organizations, including the Indian Social Institute, ABC–Active Aid, and the National Centre for Advocacy Studies. He has been awarded the Gandhian Eco-Philosophy Fellowship by the Department of Environment, Government of Madhya Pradesh, and the Sahapedia–UNESCO Fellowship by Sahapedia, Delhi.
Jeet has written extensively on policy issues related to environment, natural resources, climate change, and the commons. His publications include a co-authored book, book chapters, and research papers in peer-reviewed academic journals.
