RGICS is India’s leading liberal, social, democratic Think Tank focused on advancing individual freedom and catalysing egalitarian change.

We are currently looking for suitable candidates for the following positions:

Associate Fellow (Economics):

Responsible for independent production of research, analyses, data and advice of high academic quality (including products such as policy briefs and analyses) that will contribute to academic and public discourse on public policy and may be used by political representatives and peoples’ struggles to more effectively represent the people in public policy decision making; leading and managing academic events; overseeing publications, knowledge creation & sharing; establishing and managing partnerships, resource mobilization, communication and outreach.

Skills/ Competencies Required: PhD in Economics with 5 years of work experience in research relevant to the organizations focus on reducing inequality, inclusive and balanced growth and giving voice to marginalized sections of society. The candidate should have a strong grounding and interest in theory; strong leadership skills, capacity to initiate and develop work programmes; should be innovative and solution oriented. Candidates should also possess excellent English language communication skills (written & spoken), especially long form writing, and interpersonal skills. Requisite knowledge of relevant computer programs is also required. Prior experience in academic or research institutions is highly desirable. Candidates will be required to share peer reviewed papers, publications or other work products that demonstrate their knowledge in their area of interest.

Research/ Senior Research Associate (Economics) :

Responsibilities will include assisting RGICS in research, structured analysis, preparation of strategy papers, briefings, data collection, organizing discussions and briefings etc.

Skills/ Competencies Required: PhD in Economics with at least one to three years of relevant experience in a research environment or policy organization in the area of development economics, public policy, or a related field, excellent research and analytical skills, excellent communication (written & spoken) and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work with standard computer software like Excel, Word etc.

Rajiv Gandhi-Research Assistant to Legislators (RG-RALs) Programme:

Applications are invited for the one-year, full time RG-RAL’s program which presents an exciting chance to develop a range of skills at one of India’s leading think tanks focused on advancing individual freedom and catalysing egalitarian change.

We are looking for outstanding young people who are interested in working on issues that are at the intersection of policy, development, public administration, governance and politics. Successful candidates should hold a degree in a subject relevant to our area of work and ideally a master’s degree or equivalent experience. Candidates must have excellent communication and organizational skills, and should be extremely comfortable with standard computer software like MS Office, Word and Excel. They should also posses strong web research and social media skills.

Eligibility: Graduates/Post Graduates with a specialisation in Economics, Law, Sociology, and Political Science. Age – Maximum – 25 years, 28 years for SC/ST Candidates

RGICS is looking for young students with excellent communication and organizational skills, who would like to make a difference to the public policy process and wish to gain valuable experience in policy design by contributing their time, skills and knowledge to our ongoing activities. Successful candidates will assist the team with events and research and will gain a unique insight into how public policy is shaped.

Eligibility: Students pursuing Graduation (3rd year) or Post-Graduation.

Interns will be required to work full-time for a period of at least two months and will work on specific projects/assignments.
